General Questions:

  • Can I get a hard copy of the documentation
For now the answer is no, but we are working on a system to generate html documentation directly from the latest articles on this site. When this is done, the html documents will be bundled with the latest code release.

  • Can NSU3D be used to solve internal flow problems?
Yes. NSU3D is primarily used for external aerodynamics and a great deal of effort has been put into making sure that it provides best in class accuracy and speed for this class of problem. That being said, all of the necessary boundary conditions exist for fully wall bounded flows.

Grid System Questions:

  • What types of grids can I use?
The most common grids used with NSU3D are NASA VGRID, ICEM, and AFLR. Any fully tetrahedral or mixed element grid that can be converted to one of these formats should be fine.
  • What about CGNS?
There is preliminary support for CGNS grids in some of the pre-processing tools already, but it is not quite ready for prime time.
